It is amazing how when we first come the sun is way to the left and as the months go by it moves to the right and ends up over the water when we leave. Lynda's new Cannon does a nice job, even though she fought me on buying it she gets a lot of enjoyment and takes nice shots.

First Sunset PIcture by Lynda
It is amazing how when we first come the sun is way to the left and as the months go by it moves to the right and ends up over the water when we leave. Lynda's new Cannon does a nice job, even though she fought me on buying it she gets a lot of enjoyment and takes nice shots.
New Bridge to Keys
One of our first sights coming onto the Keys this year was the new bridge they opened since we left. It is sort of like the card sound bridge in that it goes real up real high and provides a wonderful view. They carefully picked a Key like color for the barricades. So here are some pictures Lynda took.
Charlie the swimer

Lynda headed to a meeting with the volunteers and I took Charlie out for a walk and swim. He so loves to fetch coconuts as did Jenny. Here is a picture of him I took with my blackberry. Been using that a lot as it's handy but sometimes not the best photos. Beautiful day today, perfect weather. (David)

The start of our winter story 11/18/08

After reading over our past blog of our experiences we decided to continue another with our thoughts and reactions to our present life here in the Florida Keys. After all what harm can it do as we both enjoy taking photos, and writing about interesting subjects and things that we see?
Let me start out by stating that for the past week and a half we have both been going through a reentry crisis coming back to our winter job. As we had stated in the last part of the previous blog we would rather be on the road. I guess that is hard for many to fathom as the Keys are a beautiful part of the world, but it's sort of "Been there done that" for us. Anyway with that fact out of the way and both of us getting used to things again, lets talk about the Keys.
When we first arrived it was very hot and humid. Tough for two folks that had come from a cool area like New Hampshire. Our summer up there lasts about a month if that. Each night it is comfortable and no AC is needed. Down here people live in it all year long. Having said that a cold front moved in a few days ago for awhile and we are enjoying that.
Charlie just loves it down here. He loves the walk in the morning along the bay and gets to swim just off our campsite in the water. During the day he lies under the motor home keeping watch on everything.
Lynda has started volunteering in the State Park again and enjoys the work and the people she has met there over the years. Some of them have invited us for Thanksgiving dinner, Bunny and Robin her significant other, aka Hot Rod. I plan to be guiding again as soon as the shop Florida Bay Outfitters, gets busy. I spoke with the owner Frank today and like the rest of businesses in the country he has been really slow.
The Elks here has put me on its house committee again so that too will take some time. That group runs the every day operation. We have gotten a few campers in but will be slow until after Christmas. That holiday will be odd like it always is when we have to spend it in Florida.
Nothing like New Hampshire or England.
As I type the windshield of the Bus is filled with the setting sunset. From our site we get a beautiful view of it on every clear day. People sometimes pull off the road and snap photos in the parking lot of the wonder. On occasion I have gone out in my Kayak to watch it set from the water. Great stuff.
